Tsiu Hang Special Area

Tsiu Hang Special Area is a protected zone covering about 24 hectares near Pak Sha Wan Peninsula with diverse plant life and coastal features. Walking trails run through the area to allow visitors to explore while safeguarding the natural environment.

The Hong Kong government established this as a Special Area in 1987 to protect the natural ecosystems of the Sai Kung region. This protected status helped prevent development and preserve the coastal environment.

The Lions Nature Education Centre offers programs that help visitors understand the plants and animals that live here. It shows why protecting these landscapes matters to the local community.

The nature trail offers accessible paths throughout the area, though sturdy footwear is recommended as the ground can be uneven in places. Visitors should stay on marked trails and follow conservation guidelines to protect the natural environment.

The area serves as an ecological corridor connecting multiple natural reserves across Sai Kung District, allowing wildlife and plants to move between protected zones. This role makes it more than just a local site; it is part of a larger network sustaining the region's biodiversity.
