Lions Nature Education Centre, Nature education center in Sai Kung District, Hong Kong.
The Lions Nature Education Centre is an educational facility on an expansive site in Sai Kung District with five exhibition halls and outdoor learning areas. The grounds feature multiple gardens and displays focused on nature and environmental education.
The facility was established through collaboration between Lions Clubs International District 303, Shell Hong Kong Limited, and the Environmental Campaign Committee. This partnership created a place for nature education in the area.
The site displays local plant species across multiple gardens, including medicinal herbs and a tree nursery for learning purposes. Visitors can observe how these plants grow and are used in the region.
The site is open daily from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, except Tuesdays when it remains closed. Bus routes 92 from Diamond Hill or 792M from Tsueng Kwan O provide direct access to the grounds.
The Shell House displays a collection of marine life with information about Hong Kong's aquatic animals and the region's former lime kiln industry. This building tells the story of the area's industrial past.
