Montezuma Castle, Historic hotel in Las Vegas, United States.
Montezuma Castle is a large Queen Anne style building near Las Vegas, New Mexico, originally constructed as a hotel. The structure contains hundreds of rooms and sits near natural hot springs that remain part of the property.
The building was constructed in 1886 by the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, making it the third hotel on this site following two earlier fires. The railroad company selected this location because of the famous hot springs in the area.
The place once drew wealthy visitors seeking healing from the natural mineral springs. Today its restored rooms continue to welcome people from around the world seeking connection and learning.
The grounds are easily accessible today and house an international school with restored dining spaces, dormitories, and classrooms. Visitors can explore the rooms and view the historic hot springs located near the castle.
The building once hosted prominent visitors including several American presidents and military commanders. These guests came primarily to benefit from the therapeutic properties of the natural mineral-rich springs.
