Delta

Delta is a city in Delta County in southwestern Colorado, located where the Uncompahgre River meets the Gunnison River. The city sits at about 4,880 feet (1,486 meters) elevation and serves as the county's main center.

The city was established in 1882 as a trading post near Fort Uncompahgre, which had served Native American tribes and early settlers. These origins shaped its role as a regional crossroads.
