Egyptian Theatre, Movie theater in Delta, Colorado, US

The Egyptian Theatre is a movie house in Delta featuring ornamental designs inspired by ancient Egypt visible throughout its exterior and interior spaces. The building combines these historical design elements with contemporary facilities for film exhibition.

The Egyptian Theatre opened in 1928, designed by Montana Fallis, who also designed Denver's Mayan Theatre. It was one of the first cinemas to run Charles Yeager's "Bank Night" promotion, which by 1936 reached 4,000 US theaters. After decline, it was restored in the 1990s and reopened in 1997 as a community theater; it was renovated again in 2009 and came under nonprofit ownership in 2022.

The theatre's name and Egyptian Revival decor date from the 1920s fashion for themed cinemas. It has operated as a community theatre since its 1997 reopening, and in September 2023 the comedy horror film CineMortal was shot inside the building, using its auditorium and basement as sets.

The 425-seat auditorium sits in downtown Delta; the sources give no street address, so confirm the entrance locally. The building reopened in 1997 as a community theater and was renovated again in 2009 for 3D projection. It passed to nonprofit ownership in 2022, so check current programming and access arrangements with the operator before travelling.

In September 2023 the comedy horror film CineMortal was shot inside the theatre, its plot turning on former film students who find an old reel in the basement. It premiered here on 7 November 2025, with proceeds going to the theatre.
