St. Mary's Cathedral

St. Mary's Cathedral features pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses, with two bell towers topped by spires completed in 1907.

The cathedral's construction began in 1891 with the lower level, while the upper church was completed in 1898 and the towers were added in 1902.

The cathedral serves as the seat of the Diocese of Colorado Springs since 1983, when Pope John Paul II established the diocese.

The cathedral maintains a columbarium that opened in 2005, offering memorial spaces at 22 West Kiowa Street in downtown Colorado Springs.

A renovation in 2003 transformed the interior of the cathedral and added new gathering spaces, meeting rooms, and a plaza for community activities.
