Adolph Zang Mansion, Neoclassical mansion in Capitol Hill, Denver, United States.
The Adolph Zang Mansion is a three-story neoclassical house in Capitol Hill with grand columns and detailed moldings throughout. The residence contains five fireplaces and sits on a modest lot near downtown Denver.
Architect Frederick C. Eberley designed this house in 1902 for Adolph J. Zang, son of brewery founder Philip Zang. The building earned its National Register of Historic Places designation in 1977.
Inside you find gilded ceilings, Tiffany chandeliers, and hand-carved woodwork that reflect how wealthy families decorated their homes in the early 1900s.
The mansion sits in Capitol Hill, an established neighborhood with good street access and several other historic buildings nearby. It is best viewed during daytime when the architectural details are easier to appreciate.
One standout feature inside is a stained glass window depicting a scene from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. This artistic detail connects classic literature with the home's interior design.
