Wyoming Governor's Mansion, Colonial Revival mansion in Cheyenne, United States.
The Wyoming Governor's Mansion is a brick residence with four sandstone columns at its entrance, built in the Georgian Colonial style. The structure features multiple rooms arranged to serve both the governors' family and official functions.
The mansion was built in 1905 to serve as Wyoming's official governor residence and continued in that role until 1976. It was then transformed into a museum and added to the National Register of Historic Places.
The rooms show furnishings from different decades, reflecting how tastes and home styles changed from the early 1900s through the 1960s. You can observe how governors' families lived and arranged their living spaces across these different periods.
The mansion sits in downtown Cheyenne and welcomes visitors on most days of the week. Plan time to walk through the rooms at a relaxed pace to appreciate the details and furnishings.
The grounds host an annual spring event where hundreds of eggs are hidden throughout the garden for children and families. This celebration draws crowds each year and has become a local tradition.
