Ahavath Beth Israel, Reform synagogue in Boise, US

The Ahavath Beth Israel synagogue features horseshoe arches and a barrel-vaulted ceiling supported by structural elements reflecting Moorish Revival architecture.

The synagogue, constructed in 1896 for approximately 3,159 dollars, represents one of the oldest Jewish places of worship in continuous use west of the Mississippi River.

The congregation follows the Nusach Ashkenaz rite and maintains regular prayer services, educational programs, and community events for Jewish families in the Boise area.

Located at 11 North Latah Street, the synagogue building underwent relocation from its initial State Street position in 2003 to preserve its structural integrity.

Moses Alexander, an early member of the congregation, served both as mayor of Boise and governor of Idaho, contributing to the synagogue's local influence.
