Albertsons Stadium, College football stadium in Boise, US.

Albertsons Stadium is a college football venue in Boise, Idaho that can seat 36,387 spectators across multiple tiers. The bright blue artificial turf covers the entire playing field and the stands wrap around the field on all sides.

The venue opened in 1970 with 14,500 seats and underwent several expansions over the following decades. Installation of the blue turf took place in 1986 making this the first college football facility with a non-green surface.

On game days the entire venue turns into a sea of blue and orange as fans and students gather together. The marching band performs between plays and the crowd joins in singing fight songs.

Tickets can be purchased at the on-site box office or through the university website with different seating sections available. Parking lots surround the facility and fill up early on game days.

The blue turf was originally chosen to reflect school colors and initially drew mockery from other universities. Today the blue playing surface serves as inspiration for other colored turf fields in college sports.

Boise : capital of Idaho, natural parks and historic sites

Boise, the capital of Idaho, offers an interesting mix of history, culture, and nature. When exploring the city, you notice buildings that tell about its past: the old prison from 1872, where you can see how justice was done long ago, and the Capitol from 1920 with its beautiful sandstone dome....
