Jenny Lake Lodge, resort in Wyoming, Verenigde Staten van Amerika
Jenny Lake Lodge is a lodging facility in Grand Teton National Park, surrounded by tall mountains and dense forests. It features 37 cabins with dark wood floors and braided rugs, a main building with large windows and a fireplace, and a restaurant serving simple, hearty meals.
The area is named after Jenny Leigh, wife of a fur trapper who explored the region in the 1870s and assisted the Hayden Expedition. That expedition was one of the first major surveys of the Teton area and led to the naming of Jenny Lake and other sites after early pioneers.
The lodge takes its name from the nearby Jenny Lake, named after Jenny Leigh, the wife of an early trapper and settler in the region. The buildings and grounds reflect the simple, natural style typical of mountain country and connect visitors with the rugged, welcoming spirit of the area.
The facility is open from May through mid-October and sits about 12 miles from Moose Junction. Reservations are required and should be made well in advance, especially during the busy summer months when the area draws many visitors.
Although the lodge sits near Jenny Lake, the water cannot be seen from the property because the grounds are surrounded by dense trees. This hidden location creates a quiet, secluded feel that guests seek when looking to step away from the busier parts of the park.
