The construction of Baitun Nur Mosque began with a cornerstone laying in 2005 and concluded in 2008, requiring an investment of 15 million Canadian dollars.
The mosque incorporates 99 Arabic inscriptions on its exterior walls, each representing different attributes of Allah from the Quran teachings.
The facility includes prayer halls, classrooms, offices, a children's area, a kitchen, and a community center serving 3,000 local Ahmadi Muslims.
A 400-kilogram chandelier, purchased for 50,000 dollars, illuminates the main prayer hall of this largest mosque in Western Canada.
