Beckham County Courthouse is a three-story brick and stone structure with a central dome supported by twelve Doric columns. The building features Tuscan columns at its entrances and clock faces on all sides of the dome.
The building was constructed in 1911 by Oklahoma Quarries & Construction Co. and served as an important administrative center during Oklahoma's early years as a state. It played a role in the development of local governance during this founding period.
The building gained national attention after appearing in John Ford's 1940 film adaptation of The Grapes of Wrath. This appearance in a famous movie drew the interest of literature and film enthusiasts to the location.
