Storm House, Historic residence in Elk City, United States

Storm House is a residential building in Elk City featuring stucco exterior walls and a red clay tile roof. The front has an arched porch, and the second story includes a wooden railing that frames the main entrance.

The architect P. A. Engwall designed and built the house in 1930. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Spanish Colonial Revival style shows what wealthy Oklahoma residents valued and aspired to in the 1930s through their choice of design elements. Walking around the house, you see how architectural taste shaped daily living in early 20th century small towns.

The house is located on West Broadway in Elk City and is visible from the street. You can observe the architectural details and exterior design from public areas nearby.

The second floor projects outward in the shape of a Spanish ship and features a specialized window. This surprising architectural detail makes the house distinctive when viewed from certain angles.
