Duncan, County seat in Stephens County, Oklahoma, United States

Duncan is a city in Stephens County, Oklahoma, located roughly 50 kilometers east of Lawton. The town center features traditional American architecture with historic buildings from different periods alongside more recent development.

A trading post was established in 1884 and grew into an important stop for travelers on the Chisholm Trail. The settlement later developed into a regional center tied to the broader story of westward expansion.

The Chisholm Trail Heritage Center presents exhibits about regional history, cattle drives, and Native American heritage through educational programs and displays.

The town has accessible streets and a compact center that is walkable for exploring. Visitors will find restaurants, shops, and public parking distributed throughout downtown.

The city is known as Oklahoma's Crape Myrtle Capital and enjoys sunny weather throughout much of the year. This climate allows the colorful blooms of these flowering plants to thrive in a special way.
