Prayer Tower, Religious tower at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, United States.
Prayer Tower at Oral Roberts University is a glass and steel structure rising 200 feet into the sky with an observation deck inside. From the deck, visitors see expansive views across the entire university campus.
Architect Frank Wallace designed this structure in 1967, incorporating Space Needle-inspired elements into the religious building. It became an instantly recognizable landmark on campus, reflecting the architectural innovations of that era.
The structure combines Christian symbols, with its form displaying a cross when viewed from the sides and a Star of David from above.
The observation deck is open Monday through Saturday from 12 PM to 5 PM, with entry from the South Lewis Avenue entrance. An elevator takes you to the top, and clear weather gives you the best views of the surrounding area.
White PVC pipes form a structural lattice around the observation deck, with red accents representing the university's religious symbolism. This material choice makes the tower both an engineering statement and a spiritual symbol.
