Hans Hanson House

The Hans Hanson House is a two-story wood building with Italianate architecture that blends Swedish and Carpenter Gothic elements. The interior contains 16 rooms with original kerosene lanterns, antique furniture, and traditional gardens.

The house was built in 1888 by Swedish immigrant Hans Hanson and stands beside his original wood cabin from 1871. That cabin is notable because the Marquette city charter was signed there in 1874.
