Hans Hanson House, Historic mansion in Marquette, United States.

The Hans Hanson House features 16 rooms across two floors, incorporating Italianate architecture with elements of Swedish and Carpenter Gothic design styles.

Constructed in 1888 by Swedish immigrant Hans Hanson, the property includes his original 1871 wood-frame cabin where the Marquette city charter was signed in 1874.

The mansion represents the architectural preferences and social status of Swedish immigrants who settled in Kansas during the late nineteenth century.

Located at 211 East 5th Street, the house maintains its original kerosene lanterns, antique furniture, Victorian playhouse, and traditional gardens.

The property contains a dual-seat outhouse from 1906 and remained under the ownership of the Hanson family for more than a century.
