Montaña Rusa, Steel roller coaster at National Coffee Park, Colombia.
Montaña Rusa is a steel roller coaster at National Coffee Park in Colombia. It climbs via electric spiral lift and races at speeds up to 66 kilometers per hour along a 787-meter track that winds through hills and tunnels.
The ride first opened in 1973 as Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun amusement park in Missouri. It was relocated to Colombia in 1999 and has operated at National Coffee Park since then.
The name Montaña Rusa reflects the historical connection to early roller coasters from Saint Petersburg, where winter ice slides provided entertainment in the 1700s.
Riders must meet a minimum height requirement of 90 centimeters. The ride carries large groups hourly, distributing passengers across multiple cars with multiple rows of seats each.
This coaster represents one of only two remaining models of its Schwarzkopf design still running anywhere in the world. Enthusiasts value it for its distinctive engineering and rare operational status.
