Jurby Transport Museum, Transport museum in Jurby, Isle of Man
Jurby Transport Museum is a transport museum housed in a former aircraft hangar on the Isle of Man, displaying buses, motorcycles, bicycles, and commercial vehicles spanning different eras. The collection ranges from 1927 to 1997 and shows how transportation evolved on the island.
The building was constructed in 1939-1940 as a Royal Air Force maintenance hangar for single-engine aircraft. After the war, the structure was later repurposed to house the museum and preserve the island's transport history.
The vehicles on display show how transportation shaped daily life and work across the island over many decades. The collection tells the story of how people moved around and connected with each other through changing times.
The museum can be reached by Bus Vannin services 17 and 18, which connect Jurby with Ramsey. Free parking is available for cars and coaches.
The collection includes the island's first preserved low-floor bus, a Dennis Dart SLF with Marshall Capital bodywork that is currently being restored. This vehicle represents an important step in modernizing public transport on the Isle of Man.
