Haus für Mozart

Haus für Mozart is a medium-sized opera house in Altstadt with approximately 1,500 seats. The venue is equipped with modern technical systems and features renovated entrance areas along with artistic elements including a golden wall by artist Michael Hammers.

The building originated in 1925 when architect Clemens Holzmeister converted former horse stables into a concert hall. Over subsequent decades the venue underwent several major reconstructions before receiving its current name in 2006.

The venue is closely tied to Mozart's legacy and serves as the home for his operas during the Salzburg Festival. Visitors experience the music of the city's most famous son in a space dedicated to this heritage.
