Torhelm, Mountain summit in Tyrol, Austria
Torhelm is a peak in the Kitzbühel Alps reaching 2,494 meters above sea level. Multiple hiking trails converge here, offering views across the surrounding valleys and alpine terrain.
A wooden cross was installed at the summit in 1978, marking a significant moment in the mountain's history. The structure remains visible today as a lasting monument.
The mountain serves as a central point where three significant valleys converge: Hemergrund, Wilde Krimml, and Lange Grund through Kelchsau.
The ascent is moderately challenging and passes through several alpine farms. Sturdy footwear and weatherproof clothing are recommended regardless of season.
The peak retains snowfields well into May, creating extended spring skiing opportunities. This seasonal snow descends from the summit far into the valley.
