Isskogel, Alpine summit in Schwaz District, Austria

The Isskogel is a 2264 m mountain in the Kitzbühel Alps in the Austrian state of Tyrol, north of the Gerlos Pass. It is the local mountain of Gerlos; the Königsleitenspitze lies to the east and the Kreuzjoch to the west. A network of hiking trails and numerous ski lifts open up the mountain, which is part of the Zillertal Arena ski area.

The Isskogel lies north of the Gerlos Pass, between the Königsleitenspitze (2315 m) to the east and the Kreuzjoch (2558 m) to the west, with Königsleiten the nearest village besides Gerlos. Its slopes are opened up by a network of hiking trails and numerous ski lifts as part of the Zillertal Arena ski area, and the Isskogelbahn, running in summer and winter, climbs to about 1900 m.

From that station mountain bikers start their descents, while the surrounding slopes belong to the Zillertal Arena ski area. The neighbouring peaks are the Königsleitenspitze to the east and the Kreuzjoch to the west.

The Isskogelbahn runs in both summer and winter and carries visitors from Gerlos up to about 1900 metres, well below the 2264-metre summit. From the top station, marked trails lead on to the peak, and mountain bikes can be taken down from there.
