Bildungshaus Salzburg St. Virgil, Educational and conference center in Aigen, Austria
The Bildungshaus Salzburg St. Virgil is a modern building complex with seminar rooms, conference facilities, and accommodation spaces in the Salzburg district of Aigen. The main building is surrounded by a nature park and also features a guesthouse called St. Rupert.
The center was designed by architect Wilhelm Holzbauer and opened in 1976 for the Archdiocese of Salzburg. It was created as a place for community programs and continuing education offered by the Catholic Church.
The site displays artworks by Josef Zenzmaier and Peter Pongratz, including a large wall painting that shapes the visual character of the grounds. These pieces form part of the everyday landscape for anyone who spends time here.
The grounds are easy to navigate on foot with clear pathways between buildings and through the nature park. Visitors should allow time to explore both the learning spaces and the surrounding landscape, as there is much to discover.
The Kunstraum St. Virgil regularly features rotating exhibitions curated by Hubert Nitsch. These changing displays transform the center into more than just a training facility and attract art enthusiasts from beyond the educational community.
