Hartenstein Castle

Hartenstein is a castle perched on a hilltop near the Kleine Krems river in Austria, displaying medieval stonework and defensive features of its era. The structure dominates the landscape and is visible from multiple hiking paths in the area.

The fortress developed through multiple building phases between the 12th and 15th centuries, shaping its layout and defensive capabilities. A major restoration in the late 19th century altered and reinforced much of its structure.
