Eisenbahnmuseum Schwechat, Railway museum in Schwechat, Austria
The Eisenbahnmuseum Schwechat displays an extensive collection of locomotives, carriages, and technical equipment from different periods of Austrian railway history.
The museum occupies the former main base of the Pressburger Bahn, which connected Vienna to Pressburg (now Bratislava) from 1914 onwards.
The museum preserves railway heritage through exhibitions of historic vehicles, including the last remaining 5041.03 diesel railcar from 1933.
The museum operates special train rides on selected dates, offering visitors the experience of traveling in restored historic carriages along preserved railway routes.
The collection includes dual-system electric locomotives that operated on both DC power within Vienna and AC power on mainline routes to Pressburg.
