Schwechat, Municipality in Bruck an der Leitha District, Austria
Schwechat spans across both banks of the Schwechat River at an elevation of 162 meters, containing four distinct subdivisions including Kledering, Mannswörth, and Rannersdorf.
The settlement emerged from the Roman outpost Ala Nova, with first documented mention in 1334, and later gained prominence through a significant meeting between Emperor Leopold I and Jan Sobieski in 1683.
The local textile manufacturing heritage dates to 1724, while the Dreher Brewery, established in 1796, continues to produce the regional Schwechater beer.
