Schloss Altkettenhof, Baroque castle in Schwechat, Austria
The castle features neobaroque architecture with extensive gardens, multiple wings, and stands as a prominent structure in the municipality of Schwechat.
First mentioned in documents from 1270, the castle underwent reconstruction after the Turkish siege of 1529 and later served as residence for Count Heinrich von Blümegen.
The castle played a role in regional textile manufacturing when Count von Blümegen established the Kettenhofer Zitz- und Kattunfabrik in 1766.
The building currently functions as a district court and houses a justice school, providing legal education and administrative services for the region.
Brewery owner Anton Dreher Junior transformed the structure between 1902 and 1903, creating the current neobaroque design visible today.
