Hirschenkogel

Hirschenkogel is a mountain summit located between Lower Austria and Styria that rises to 1,340 meters. An eight-person gondola carries visitors to the top, where an observation platform provides views across the eastern Alps.

The area gained importance after the construction of the Semmering railway in 1854, which opened the mountain landscape to visitors and transformed the region into a valued recreational destination. This railway connection laid the foundation for tourism development that continues today.

The Liechtensteinhaus restaurant at the summit preserves the Austrian tradition of mountain hospitality and serves regional dishes throughout the year. Guests often stop here during walks to rest and taste local specialties while enjoying the views.

In winter there are 14 kilometers of ski slopes and in summer an extensive network of hiking trails for different skill levels. The area is best explored gradually since the trails are well marked and the gondola provides easy access throughout the day.

The forest ropes course spans an area the size of a soccer field and features a suspended dining platform high in the trees. This platform accommodates only six people at a time, creating a memorable experience combining adventure with dining above the forest.
