Kabelwerk

The Kabelwerk is a cultural center located on the grounds of a former industrial facility in the Meidling district. It features multiple spaces for exhibitions, performances, workshops, and community gatherings with flexible configurations.

The site originally housed the Cable and Wire Works AG, an industrial operation that functioned for approximately one century. Following Siemens' acquisition in 1997, the grounds were gradually transformed into a cultural center.

The space hosts regular theatrical productions, workshops, and exhibitions that bring together artists and community members. You can sense how the place has become a gathering point for creative expression and cultural exchange.

The site is easily accessible by public transportation and offers various spaces for rent for events and gatherings. Allow time to explore the different areas and discover what programs are currently taking place.

About 3,500 residents now live in housing units developed on the former industrial grounds during the site's transformation. This mixed-use neighborhood shows how an abandoned industrial area can become home to both living spaces and cultural activities.
