Naturpark Sparbach, Nature reserve in Lower Austria, Austria
Naturpark Sparbach encompasses forests, meadows, and wetlands across 462 meters of elevation, providing habitats for numerous plant and animal species.
Prince Johann I of Liechtenstein initiated the creation of this protected area in 1810 by starting afforestation and establishing a wildlife sanctuary.
The park features three historical structures: Johannstein Ruin, Köhlerhaus Ruin, and a Triumphal Arch located in the Diana Meadow.
Visitors find amenities including a restaurant with regional food, a nature park shop, an interactive nature house, and multiple hiking trails.
Black-coated wild boars move freely throughout the park grounds, leading to a policy that prohibits bringing dogs into the nature reserve.
