Neuottakringer Kirche, Parish church in Ottakring, Austria.
Neuottakringer Kirche is a parish church in Ottakring with two towers rising approximately 68 meters high. The Neo-Gothic structure sits at Familienplatz and is surrounded by four different streets in the 16th district.
The foundation stone was laid in 1894 with a state official present for the occasion. Four years later, a bishop consecrated the completed church and formally opened it for worship.
The church takes its name from the new neighborhood of Ottakring that developed during the 19th century. Inside, wooden carved altars and decorated panels reflect the craftsmanship that visitors encounter when exploring the interior.
The church can be easily reached at Familienplatz where multiple streets intersect. Visitors should note that access to the interior may vary depending on scheduled services or special events.
The building was financed through a private estate and supported by a church building association. This unusual funding source allowed the construction of a worship space for the expanding local community.
