Pfarrkirche Mülln, Parish church in Mülln district, Salzburg, Austria
Pfarrkirche Mülln is a parish church in the Mülln district of Salzburg, positioned on the northern extension of Mönchsberg mountain. The building features a tall tower with a distinctive helm and double-lantern spire, while the interior is designed in Baroque style.
The site was first documented in 1148 and originally stood at a location of pre-Christian worship. The structure evolved from a Christian chapel in the 11th century into a Gothic hall church beginning in 1453.
The church is dedicated to Saint Pancras and displays a red marble high altar from 1758 with a Madonna figure from the 15th century inside. The building blends Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo elements that are clearly visible in its decoration.
Access is available daily, with opening times beginning in the morning and continuing until evening. Visitors can find regular services held here and can typically view the church during these times.
The adjacent cemetery is known as Heaven's Terrace and contains columbaria where monastery monks were buried over 500 years. From this location you can look out over Salzburg's historic old town.
