Augartenkirche, Catholic church in Leopoldstadt, Vienna, Austria

The Augartenkirche is a broad, gabled church with a tower, built in 1948 to Walter Reisch's plans and clad entirely in wood, with a wooden porch at the entrance. Its hall interior holds stained-glass windows of scenes from Mary's life and a choir-wall window of God the Father by Lucia Jirgal. Above a wooden altar table, a reredos wall with evangelist reliefs and a Crucifixion group by Gret Einberger dates from 1950, as does the carved reredos altar in the chapel in the tower's ground floor.

The church was built in 1948 following architect Walter Reisch's design and received its parish status in 1950. It was constructed after World War II to serve the neighborhood's growing population.

The interior displays stained glass windows featuring Mary created by artist Lucia Jirgal, alongside evangelist reliefs and crucifixion sculptures that decorate the worship space. These artistic elements shape how the church feels to those who enter.
