Erich Fried Realgymnasium, Secondary school in Alsergrund, Austria
The Erich Fried Realgymnasium operates in a protected heritage building at Glasergasse 25, providing education to approximately 500 students with 60 teachers.
Founded in 1904 as K.K. Staatsrealschule for boys with 120 students, the institution moved to its current location in Glasergasse in 1909.
The school adopted the name of poet Erich Fried in 1998, installing a commemorative plaque and maintaining projects to remember 137 Jewish pupils from 1938.
Students can select English-medium instruction across various subjects, with additional language options including French, Spanish, or Italian in upper grades.
The building underwent major renovations between 2007 and 2008, requiring temporary relocation of all educational activities to maintain structural integrity.
