Erich Fried Realgymnasium

The Erich Fried Realgymnasium is a secondary school housed in a protected heritage building at Glasergasse 25 in Alsergrund. It serves approximately 500 students with instruction available through English and various other language options.

The school was founded in 1904 as K.K. Staatsrealschule for boys and relocated to its current location on Glasergasse in 1909. This site has served as an educational institution for over a century.

The school bears the name of poet Erich Fried since 1998 and maintains projects remembering 137 Jewish students from 1938. This commemorative work shapes how the school community understands its own identity today.
