Schloss Fünfkirchen, Protected heritage castle in Drasenhofen, Austria

The four-winged Renaissance castle sits on Schlossberg hill at 231 meters elevation, offering views across the municipality of Drasenhofen in Lower Austria.

Johann Bernhard von Fünfkirchen built the castle in 1602 upon remnants of a late Romanesque structure to serve as his administrative residence.

The castle features a stuccoed Sala terrena and traces of fresco paintings from its early 18th-century baroque renovation under Count Johann Adam.

The castle remains privately owned and occupied by the Fuhrmann family since 1972, with no public access available for interior visits.

Napoleon Bonaparte spent one night at Schloss Fünfkirchen in 1805 during his military campaigns through Austria.
