Wasserbehälter Bisamberg, Water reservoir in Stammersdorf, Austria

The Bisamberg Water Reservoir consists of two chambers storing 60,000 cubic meters of drinking water on the eastern slope of Bisamberg mountain.

The construction of this infrastructure project started with a foundation stone ceremony on November 8, 1993 and concluded with its inauguration on September 18, 1996.

Austrian artist Gottfried Kumpf decorated the exterior with wave-shaped blue concrete walls and added enameled steel figures of fish, mermaids, and a water spirit.

This facility supplies water to 100,000 households in Vienna's Floridsdorf and Donaustadt districts, maintaining emergency reserves for up to two days.

The reservoir connects to Vienna's water network through a single pipeline system, resulting in construction cost savings of 14.5 million euros.
