Weichtal

Weichtal is a narrow gorge with steep vertical rock walls made of limestone that have been carved out by flowing water over time. The passage becomes increasingly confined as you move deeper into it, revealing distinct layers within the rock formations.

The gorge was carved over millions of years as water continuously eroded through limestone layers of the Alpine region. This slow geological process created the steep walls and narrow passages visible today.

The canyon draws outdoor enthusiasts who come to hike and experience the landscape while respecting its natural state. The steep rock walls shape how people move through the space and connect with the power of flowing water.

Sturdy footwear with good grip is essential as the paths can be wet and slippery, especially after rain. Early morning visits offer better visibility and fewer crowds on the narrow passages.
