Wildseeloderhaus, Alpine Club mountain hut in Kitzbühel Alps, Austria
The Wildseeloderhaus is a mountain hut in the Kitzbühel Alps situated at 1,854 meters next to an alpine lake between two surrounding peaks. The stone structure accommodates around 30 guests and sits at the junction of marked hiking routes and climbing paths.
The hut was established in 1891 by the Austrian Alpine Club and the Fieberbrunn Tourist Association. Local limestone was used in its construction, making it an important base for mountaineers exploring the region at that time.
The hut serves as a meeting place where hikers gather to rest and share their experiences while taking in views of the surrounding peaks. People stop here to connect with others and enjoy the mountains together.
Visitors can reach the hut by cable car followed by a short walk, or take a longer hiking route from the valley below. The approach takes between one and three hours depending on which route you choose and your hiking pace.
The hut features rooms made with Zirben pine, a fragrant wood native to the Alps that fills the air with a distinctive scent. This wood was traditionally favored in mountain buildings and gives the spaces a warm and natural feeling.
