Frauenkirche Maria die Glorreiche, Neoclassical church in Baden, Austria
The church features a symmetrical double tower facade integrated into Frauengasse street with a rectangular portal and high round-arched window between the towers.
The Frauenkirche was first mentioned as St. Mary's Church in a 13th-century document from Heiligenkreuz Abbey and underwent reconstruction between 1825 and 1826.
The church played an instrumental role in Duke Friedrich August's secret conversion to Catholicism on June 1, 1697, marking a significant religious event.
Located at Frauengasse 3, the church maintains its status as a protected monument under the heritage designation number 77308.
After the great fire of Baden in 1812, Baron Joseph Friedrich von Haan purchased the ruins, restored them, and later sold the properties to Emperor Franz I.
