Lassalle-Hof, Vienna

Lassalle-Hof is a public housing complex in Leopoldstadt comprising nine staircases with 269 apartments distributed across multiple floors. An eight-story residential tower with distinctive corner balconies dominates the structure, while the ground level includes 14 commercial spaces along Lassallestraße and facilities such as a kindergarten, library, and maternal advisory center.

Lassalle-Hof was constructed between 1924 and 1926 as part of Vienna's ambitious social housing program, designed by architects Hubert Gessner, Hans Paar, and Fritz Waage following a municipal competition. The project emerged in response to severe housing shortages following World War One and became a model for modern social housing approaches in the city.

Named after Ferdinand Lassalle, a German labor movement leader, the building incorporates both modern and traditional architectural elements in its facade design.
