Alumnat St. Pölten is a multi-story building organized around two rectangular courtyards with a walled garden in between. The structure houses a refectory decorated with baroque artworks and a chapel for religious purposes.
A fire destroyed the original 15th-century structure in 1621, leading to reconstruction between 1643 and 1647. The rebuilding incorporated some materials and structural elements from the earlier building.
The interior chapel displays religious artwork that reflects the spiritual focus of those living here. Visitors can observe how the sacred spaces are arranged to support daily prayer and contemplation.
The building sits at Wiener Strasse 38 and functions as a seminary for training future Catholic priests. Be aware that it remains an active educational institution, so visiting access may be limited.
The main north-facing facade displays a 1932 painting showing the Throne of Grace above the portal. This work by artist Arthur Brusenbauch presents religious symbolism in a prominent location.
