Wienerbruck, Alpine settlement in Annaberg, Austria.
Wienerbruck is a small settlement located west of Annaberg that spreads along the B20 road corridor. The place consists of scattered homes, farms, and local buildings nestled within a mountain valley landscape.
The settlement developed as a rural community with traditional economic structures that supported local life. In 1938 the area included two inns, a bakery, a general store, and a blacksmith serving residents and travelers.
The settlement maintains traditional Austrian rural patterns with a combination of residential buildings, agricultural activities, and small-scale commercial enterprises.
The area offers good access to hiking trails and the surrounding natural environment. The Ötscher-Basis Nature Park Center nearby serves as a departure point for excursions into the Ötschergräben area.
The historic Wienerbruck power plant dates from 1910 and was built specifically to supply electricity to the Mariazeller railway. This facility remains the oldest electrical installation of its kind in Lower Austria.
