Goygol National Park, Protected nature reserve in Goygol Rayon, Azerbaijan.
The park spans 12,755 hectares across the Lesser Caucasus Mountains, featuring Lake Goygol at 1,500 meters above sea level with pure blue waters.
The landscape transformed in 1139 when an earthquake caused rocks from Mount Kapaz to block the Akhsu River, forming the current Lake Goygol.
The park contains 420 plant species, including 20 endemic varieties, along with diverse wildlife such as bearded vultures, lynx, and brown bears.
Visitors can access hiking trails leading to Lake Maragol and Mount Kapaz, with temperatures ranging from 0.1 to 10 degrees Celsius throughout the year.
The park's wet poplar forests contain trees reaching 40 meters in height with trunk diameters extending to 2.5 meters.
