Khan's Garden, Urban park in Ganja, Azerbaijan.
Khan's Garden is an urban park in Ganja covering around 6 hectares, planted with plane trees, cedars, and cypress species. These different trees form a green space that stands out in the middle of the city.
The garden was established before 1588 and was originally connected to the nearby Ganja Fortress. After Russian occupation, part of it was merged with another garden area in the city.
The garden serves as a gathering place where neighbors and families spend time together, walking in the shade and enjoying the open space. This role as a social center has remained central to local life for generations.
The garden is located southwest of Ganja's central square with shaded pathways running between the trees. Visitors can find relief from intense summer heat and strong winter winds while walking through the space.
Some of the trees in the garden were ordered by Javad Khan from merchants traveling through Ganja on trade routes. These historic specimens carry traces of a trading tradition that once linked the city to distant regions.
