Bliha Waterfall

Bliha Waterfall is a natural monument near Fajtovci that drops in a vertical cascade approximately 40 meters down while spanning roughly 10 meters wide. The water plunges over the Bliha River, creating several distinct water flow patterns as it descends.

The site received official protection status as a natural monument in 1965, marking an important milestone in the conservation of natural sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This early recognition reflected the significance of the location for environmental preservation at that time.

The local population calls the falls Blihin Skok, referencing an old legend about a woman named Bliha who is said to have jumped from the cliffs. This story shapes how people connect with and speak about the place.

The waterfall sits roughly 14 kilometers west of Sanski Most and is accessible via marked hiking paths that wind through the surrounding landscape. Visitors should wear sturdy footwear since trail conditions can vary depending on weather.

The waterfall displays three distinct flow patterns during its descent: horsetail, plunge, and punchbowl formations, each creating different water movements. This variety of flow types in one location is an uncommon natural feature.
