Dohar Upazila

Dohar Upazila is an administrative subdivision forming the southern edge of Dhaka District and extends along the Padma River. The region is divided into eight local administrative units composed of approximately 133 villages.

During British colonial rule, authorities forced local farmers to grow indigo, which sparked widespread resistance. This revolt was part of a larger movement against imposed farming demands across the region.
