Bastogne is a municipality in Luxembourg province in the Walloon Region of Belgium, where seven main roads converge at an elevation of 484 meters (1,588 feet). The town sits amid gentle hills and forests of the Ardennes and connects several valleys through its central location.
In December 1944, the American army defended this town against German troops during the Ardennes Offensive. The resistance lasted several weeks and made the place known worldwide.
