Royal Palace of Brussels, Royal palace in Brussels, Belgium
The Royal Palace exhibits neoclassical architecture with five floors, featuring white marble staircases, stone columns, and grand reception rooms along Place des Palais.
The initial construction began in 1826 on Coudenberg hill, replacing a former palatial complex that dated from the 11th century and burned down in 1731.
The palace functions as the administrative workplace of the Belgian monarch, hosting state ceremonies, diplomatic meetings, and official receptions throughout the year.
The Royal Palace opens for public visits from July 23 to August 28, except Mondays, offering free access to selected rooms through timed entry slots.
The Mirror Room contains a ceiling artwork created with jewel beetle shells, while the Goya Room displays tapestries based on Francisco de Goya designs.
