Tour du Millénaire

The Tour du Millénaire is a 60-meter-tall observation tower built from Douglas-fir wood and steel framework with three viewing platforms at different heights. Each platform offers a new perspective on the surrounding Ardennes landscape and the border region beyond.

The Croix-Scaille plateau where this tower stands was a strategic refuge for Resistance fighters during World War II among the dense forests. This historical role reflects the area's past importance as a border region during conflict.

This observation point has become a gathering place for hikers and nature enthusiasts who come to experience the expansive views across the forested region. People visit to witness the landscape where Belgium and France meet from a high vantage point.

The tower is open year-round but closes during hunting seasons and severe weather conditions that make climbing unsafe. Visitors should prepare for changeable weather and bring suitable footwear for the forest terrain.

The structure combines two tripods, one upright and one inverted, creating an distinctive silhouette against the forested landscape. This unusual engineering approach makes the tower instantly recognizable from various angles in the surrounding region.
