Dames de Meuse, Geological formation in Laifour, France.

Three prominent rock formations rise to 400 meters above the Meuse River, creating natural landmarks visible from multiple vantage points.

During the year 1080, three daughters of the Lord of Rethel married the sons of the Lord of Hierges, leading to events that shaped local folklore.

The rock formations feature in numerous regional tales and have drawn writers including George Sand and Théophile Gauthier to document their presence.

A marked hiking trail stretches 14 kilometers around the formations, with red and yellow signs guiding visitors from Laifour railway station.

The geological structures stand on the left bank of the Meuse River, covered with beech trees and forming part of the ancient Ardennes massif.
